Milk-Alkali Syndrome

Also known as Burnett's syndrome, milk-alkali syndrome is an acquired condition in which the blood contains too much calcium (hypercalcemia) and the body's chemistry is too alkaline. It is usually caused by drinking too much milk during heavy use of alkaline antacid remedies. High intake of vitamin D may exacerbate the condition.
