Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL)

 

Of a nutrient, the highest amount that a healthy person can consume without endangering his or her health. Since their introduction in 1997, ULs have been established for 15 of the nutrients monitored by Diet Power: calcium; copper; folate; iron; magnesium; manganese; niacin; phosphorus; selenium; vitamins A, B6, C, D, and E; and zinc.
